VIKINGS AND MAINGATE INC. ANNOUNCE NEW 10-YEAR DEAL
-- Indianapolis-based merchandiser to coordinate all Vikings merchandise sales beginning in 2009.

In an effort to provide Vikings fans with the most innovative and complete merchandising services, the Minnesota Vikings have announced a 10-year deal with MainGate Inc, making the Indianapolis-based company the exclusive retail and merchandising company for the organization.
The partnership, which formally began on June 27, positions MainGate to operate all three Vikings Locker Room mall stores, as well as merchandise locations throughout the Metrodome and at the team’s training camp in Mankato. MainGate will also operate all of the Vikings online merchandise sales.

Since its founding in 1963, MainGate’s primary activity has been the coordination of event merchandise sales for the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA). While that partnership has grown and remains a core part of the company’s business, MainGate has become a multifaceted merchandising and marketing company that serves numerous business partners.
MainGate is the exclusive merchandiser of the Indianapolis Colts, the Detroit Lions, the NHRA, the Indy Car series, the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, Danica Patrick Racing, Budweiser King Racing, John Force Racing, the Barrett-Jackson Classic Car Auto Auction and the Indy Racing League. In addition, MainGate operates the online merchandise business for the St. Louis Rams, the Kansas City Chiefs and Nicklaus Companies.
MainGate also has partnerships with numerous NBA and NHL teams and holds licenses for the NCAA, Harley-Davidson, the National Lacrosse League, the WNBA and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
